In November, 2015 I had the honor of bringing my TestSpot laboratory to students in the senior sculpture department.

The experience took my breath away and brought tears to my eyes. By far if was one of the highlights of my Fall term at RISD. The students were engaged, fun, thoughtful, and worked together to produce unusual prints

In preparation for the session, I asked the students to bring in three different substrates and three different print materials. In class, I gave a short presentation on my work and the project then performed three basic print demonstrations: direct printing, faux flocking, and dry printing. The students were then ‘let loose’ to print their materials. At the end of class, they left a hefty number of prints to be added to the TestSpot Archive and Database.

Working with sculptors reminded me of the unending creativity and unexpected ideas humans are capable of. I am eternally grateful for the opportunity.
